Explaining the name iV-4, the company says that "i" stands for "individuality", "V" for "Vehicle" and "4" for "4 wheel drive", which means that the iV-4 will be a four-wheel drive vehicle to take on the Nissan Juke and likes. The design too looks quite refreshing with straight, sleek lines, clamshell hood, five-slotted front grille and fog light with built-in laser sensor on the roof.
As far as the dimensions of the iV4 are concerned, it is 4,215mm long, 1850mm wide and has an overall height and wheelbase of 1665mm and 2500mm, which proves this to be a good five-seater vehicle. But to bring this to India, its length could be shortened to sub-4 metre, so to avail the excise duty benefits. In global markets, the iV4 will be positioned between the Jimny and Grand Vitara.
Suzuki is planning to roll out the production version of the car by 2015 in Europe, while the development for the same can start sometime in 2014.
