Rolls-Royce Wraith launched in India, priced at Rs 4.6 crore
Rolls-Royce, on Monday, announced the launch of ‘Wraith’, touted as the most powerful model from the stable of the super luxury car maker, in India, with price starting at Rs.4.6 crore (ex-showroom Delhi).
“The Wraith, which is a luxury four-seater, is the most dynamic and powerful Rolls-Royce ever built. It’s a key product for the company,” Rolls-Royce General Manager, Emerging Markets Asia, Herfried Hasenoehrl, said while introducing the car which is capable of gliding from 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds.
The company at present sells Ghost (Rs.3.6 crore onwards) and Phantom (Rs.6.1 crore onwards) models in the country, and is also looking to expand its dealerships here. “We believe there is immense potential in India. In 2005, we started with one dealership.
To cater to different regions, we will be opening two more dealerships this year, taking the total number to five,” Mr. Hasenoehrl told reporters here. The two new dealerships would come up at Chandigarh and Ahmedabad, he added. Rolls-Royce has dealerships at Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad at present. The car maker, which sold 3,542 cars globally last year, said India was still a strong market for it and “the biggest in emerging markets”.
